Job summary

City of Dover, New Hampshire is seeking a full-time Facilities, Grounds & Cemeteries Division worker to perform routine manual labor. Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, and one year’s experience in construction, road maintenance or trade work, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid Operator’s license required, CDL-B license with air brake and tanker endorsement preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform general heavy laboring duties in assisting skilled and semi-skilled workers; lay curbstones, remove trees, mix and pour cement, and other general labor tasks.
• Maintain park, ball fields, cemeteries, and playground facilities; mow grass and clear weeds and debris.
• Shovel snow and spread sand or salt on sidewalks, parking lots, and steps; operate small trucks or plows as needed.
• Load and unload heavy objects; assist in weather-related emergencies and disaster response.
• Operate hand tools and machinery such as mowers, brush cutters, and weed whackers; perform basic maintenance.
• Occasionally perform traffic control and operate trucks as necessary.
