Job summary

City-of-Dove is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to safely and efficiently run bulldozers, graders, loaders and other heavy machinery for public works projects in Dover, NH. The role supports road construction, snow removal, and facility upkeep.

Applicants should have a High School diploma, 3 years of heavy equipment experience, and NH CDL B with Air Brake Endorsement; Tanker Endorsement and other certifications are valued. This is a full-time, non-exempt position with benefits.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Three (3) years experience operating and maintaining heavy construction and maintenance equipment.
• NH CDL B with Air Brake Endorsement and Tanker Endorsement; CDL-A preferred.
• NE Collection Systems Operator Certificate Grade II and NH Water Distribution Certification II.

Responsibilities

• Operate assigned heavy construction and maintenance equipment for road work and facility maintenance.
• Service equipment and report major repairs to supervisor.
• Direct work of unskilled and skilled workers in routine maintenance tasks.
• Operate vehicles to maintain mechanical and structural integrity and comply with laws.
• Prepare equipment for snow removal and seasonal cleanup operations.
• Perform semi-skilled tasks essential to department and city operations.
