Job summary

The City of Dover, New Hampshire is seeking a reliable individual to perform routine cleaning and general maintenance in city buildings and recreation facilities. The position runs weeknights from 7:00 pm to 1:00 am, for 30 hours per week, with pay from $17.55 to $25.39 per hour.

Responsibilities include cleaning floors, restrooms, offices and public areas, removing debris, and assisting with basic preventive maintenance.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of custodial and grounds maintenance methods and materials.
• Ability to follow written and oral instruction.
• Physical stamina to perform required work.
• Ability to complete required forms and maintain accurate records.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with staff and the public.

Responsibilities

• Clean floors and carpets by sweeping, vacuuming, washing and waxing as needed.
• Empty trash and dispose properly.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms.
• Dust and clean offices and public areas.
• Remove debris around entrances and walkways.
• Perform basic maintenance and monitor equipment.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and requisition replacements as needed.
• Monitor security and access to buildings.
