The Grounds/Equipment Operator is responsible for maintaining Endicott College's buildings, grounds, and equipment. This role performs a variety of tasks, including landscaping, snow removal, assisting with event setup and breakdown, handling routine maintenance and minor repairs, and completing work orders. Reports to the Director of Grounds. Works under general supervision.
A minimum of two years of experience in facilities operations, grounds maintenance, or general repair work, preferably in a college or institutional environment. Proven reliability, a strong work ethic, and a consistent record of meeting job commitments and deadlines. Demonstrated ability to provide responsive, professional customer service while maintaining a positive, helpful attitude during interactions with students, staff, and visitors. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in performing tasks and completing documentation. Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team while remaining accountable for individual performance. Ability to work overtime or flexible hours in response to events or emergency situations. Practical skills and knowledge to perform assigned tasks effectively. Adaptability and a positive approach to handling varied responsibilities.
A minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent. Ability to climb ladders, lift up to 50 lbs., and perform physically demanding tasks. Knowledge of day‑to‑day operations in a college environment. Must provide proof of a valid Mass. driver's license and a current DOT medical form annually. Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Department of Public Safety Hoisting License.
In compliance with Massachusetts pay transparency law, the hourly pay range for this position is $22.60–$25.00 per hour. Endicott College considers factors such as (but not limited to) job responsibilities, relevant experience, skills, internal equity, and external market data when determining pay. The final hourly rate is determined by the Human Resources Office based on these factors. This range reflects base pay only and does not include benefits or other compensation.
