Job summary

Endicott College in Beverly, MA, is seeking a Grounds/Equipment Operator to maintain our seaside campus, oversee landscaping, snow removal, and routine repairs. You will support events and help keep paths safe and welcoming for students, staff, and visitors. Reporting to the Director of Grounds, this role requires reliability, teamwork, and flexible hours to cover urgent needs or campus events.

A valid Mass. driver's license and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs are required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Maintains campus grounds: plants trees/shrubs, mows lawns, trims hedges and collects leaves.
  • Clears snow/ice from parking lots and walkways for safety and access.
  • Assists with setup, breakdown, and cleanup for events and functions.
  • Performs minor repairs and routine maintenance; troubleshoots equipment.
  • Picks up trash and disposes of waste daily; participates in on-call rotations.
  • Supports department and campus goals with additional tasks as needed.

This role performs a variety of tasks, including landscaping, snow removal, assisting with event setup and breakdown, handling routine maintenance and minor repairs, and completing work orders. The position contributes to a functional, safe, and welcoming campus environment. Endicott College considers factors such as (but not limited to) job responsibilities, relevant experience, skills, internal equity, and external market data when determining pay. The final hourly rate is determined by the Human Resources Office based on these factors.
