Job summary

City of Winston-Salem, NC is seeking a grounds maintenance supervisor to manage a small crew and perform routine grounds upkeep for city facilities.

Under general supervision, you will coordinate tasks, monitor safety, and ensure timely completion, with a 7:00 am to 3:30 pm schedule.

This position requires basic education and experience in grounds maintenance, plus a valid driver's license, and emphasizes customer service and accurate reading of maps.

Qualifications

• Requires customer service skills and ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Must read maps to locate work locations and direct crew.
• Experience with grounds maintenance equipment such as mowers, trimmers, blowers and edgers.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to perform preventive maintenance on equipment.

Responsibilities

• Directs and works with a crew of 2–5 employees to perform routine grounds maintenance tasks.
• Plans and communicates work tasks with supervisor and redirects the crew as needed.
• Works 7:00 am to 3:30 pm and maintains timely completion of assignments.
