Job summary

Asplundh Tree Expert, LLC is seeking a Groundperson to support the area Foreperson with switching, maintenance, and construction of substation equipment. The role involves ensuring a safe work environment and assisting with inspections, under supervision, for both employees and contractors.

Responsibilities include working from the ground, clearing areas, assisting with installation tasks, communicating with property owners, and flagging traffic.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
• Pre-employment drug screen, background, and/or MVR check may be required.

Responsibilities

• Performs all work from the ground.
• Clears work area around structures.
• Excavates to assist in the installation of structures or cable as required by contract specification.
• Communicates work to be performed with public and private property owners.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Foreperson relating to utility line work.
• Assembles material on the ground to be installed by the lineperson or apprentice.
• Flags traffic.
• Operates various tools for the work (digging devices, wrenches, hammers, come a long, jack hammer, hand lines).
• Working hours will extend into night and may exceed an eight hour day.
