Job summary

Asplundh Tree Expert, LLC in Baltimore area is seeking a Groundperson to support substation switching, maintenance, and construction under the supervision of the area General Foreperson.

The role includes working from ground level, communicating with property owners, and assisting with material assembly and flagging traffic. Night hours are possible; pre-employment checks may apply.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
• Upon offer, candidates may be required to pass pre-employment drug screen, background, and/or MVR check.

Responsibilities

• Performs all work from the ground.
• Clears work area around structures.
• Excavates to assist in installation of structures or cable as required by contract specification.
• Contact with public and private property owners to communicate work to be performed.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Foreperson relating to utility line work.
• Assembles material on the ground to be installed by the lineperson or apprentice.
• Flags traffic.
• Operates various tools for the work (manual digging devices, wrenches, hammers, come a long, jack hammer and hand line).
• Working hours extend into night and may exceed an eight hour day.
