Job summary

Asplundh Tree Expert, LLC is seeking a Groundperson to work under the supervision of the area General Foreperson. The position covers switching, maintenance, and construction of substation equipment with protective measures and routine inspections.

You will help provide a safe work environment for employees and contractors and lead Operator/EMJ apprentices. You will perform ground-based tasks, clear areas, assist with excavation, communicate with property owners, assemble materials, flag

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs all work from the ground.
• Clears work area around structures.
• Excavates to assist in the installation of structures or cable as required by contract specification.
• Will have contact with public and private property owners to communicate work to be performed.
• Will perform other duties as assigned by Foreperson relating to utility line work.
• Assembles material on the ground to be installed by the lineperson or apprentice.
• Will flag traffic.
• Operates various tools for the work (various manual digging devices, wrenches, hammers, come a long, jack hammer and hand line etc.).
• Working hours will extend into night and will exceed an eight hour day.
