Job summary

Asplundh Tree Expert, LLC is seeking a Groundperson to assist with switching, maintenance, and construction of substation equipment under supervision. Responsibilities include working from the ground, clearing areas, excavating, and communicating with property owners.

Role supports Foreperson and apprentices, with duties that may extend into night shifts. Requires minimum age of 18, and offers pre-employment screens and a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Pre-employment drug screen, background, and/or MVR check may be required.

Responsibilities

• Performs all work from the ground.
• Clears work area around structures.
• Excavates to assist in installation of structures or cable as required by contract specification.
• Communicates work to be performed to public and private property owners.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Foreperson relating to utility line work.
• Assembles material on the ground to be installed by the lineperson or apprentice.
• Flags traffic.
• Operates various hand tools and equipment used in line work.
• Working hours may extend into night and exceed a regular eight-hour day.
