Job summary

Asplundh Tree Expert, LLC is seeking a Groundperson to support the area foreperson with switching, maintenance, and construction of substation equipment. You will perform ground-based tasks, handle material preparation, and assist apprentices while ensuring safety and efficiency on job sites.

The role requires communication with property owners, the use of various hand tools, and adherence to company practices. Occasional night shifts are possible, with pre-employment screening as standard.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.

Responsibilities

• Performs all work from the ground.
• Clears work area around structures.
• Excavates to assist in installation of structures or cable as required by contract specification.
• Communicates with public and private property owners about work to be performed.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Foreperson related to utility line work.
• Assembles material on the ground for installation by lineperson or apprentice.
• Flags traffic.
• Operates various tools (digging devices, wrenches, hammers, come-along, jackhammer, hand line).
• Working hours extend into night and may exceed an eight hour day.
