Job summary

Asplundh Tree Expert, LLC is seeking a Groundperson to support substation maintenance and construction under the supervision of the General Foreperson. The role involves switching, protective measures, and routine inspections, with leadership duties for apprentices.

Responsibilities include ground-based work, site clearance, material assembly, traffic flagging, and operating various hand tools. Some night work is required.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
• Upon offer, employees may be required to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, background, and/or MVR check.

Responsibilities

• Performs all work from the ground.
• Clears work area around structures.
• Excavates to assist in the installation of structures or cable as required by contract specification.
• Communicates work to be performed with property owners.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Foreperson relating to utility line work.
• Assembles material on the ground to be installed by the lineperson or apprentice.
• Flags traffic.
• Operates various tools for the work (hand digging devices, wrenches, hammers, come-along, jackhammer, hand line).
• Working hours may extend into the night and exceed an eight-hour day.
