Job summary

Pike Corporation is seeking a Groundman to support the construction and maintenance of underground electrical distribution systems. You will assist the crew, operate and maintain excavation equipment, and work outdoors across various conditions under the supervision of the Foreman.

This role requires willingness to travel, physical labor, and availability for outages and emergencies. Pike emphasizes safety, teamwork, and reliability in a demanding field environment.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's License and ability to obtain CDL within 60 days.
• Willing to travel long distances on short notice.
• Lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Willing to work outside of normal business hours, including weekends, holidays and overtime.
• Able to work outdoors in varying weather and environments.

Responsibilities

• Assist in construction, repair and maintenance of underground distribution systems.
• Install and repair underground facilities, conductors and hardware.
• Operate and maintain excavation equipment used on job sites.
• Work outdoors in extreme heat, cold, rain, and wind; respond to outages and emergencies.
• Follow all safety protocols and PPE procedures.
• Inspect PPE and rubber goods; ensure proper PPE usage.
• Partner with foreman and crew to complete assigned tasks on schedule.
