Job summary

Pike Electric, Inc. is seeking a Groundman to support underground distribution construction and maintenance for our power grid projects. You will assist the crew with digging, installing, and repairing underground facilities, and you will report to the Foreman.

This role requires physical work, outdoor conditions, and willingness to travel and be on-call for outages and emergencies. A valid driver's license with ability to obtain CDL is required.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license required; ability to obtain CDL within 60 days.
• Willing to travel long distances on short notice.
• Lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment up to 50 pounds.
• Work extended periods at job locations, including out-of-state assignments.
• Willing to work outside normal hours, including weekends, holidays, and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Perform new construction, maintain and repair underground distribution systems with safety first.
• Install and repair underground facilities, conductors, and related hardware.
• Maintain excavation equipment including backhoes, trenchers, excavators, and pulling equipment.
• Work outdoors in varying environmental conditions and respond to outages or emergencies.
• Follow safety protocols including PPE use and inspection of PPE and rubber goods.
• Understand when to wear personal protective equipment.
