Job summary

Pike Electric, LLC is seeking a Groundman to assist in constructing and maintaining underground electrical distribution systems. You will work with a foreman to support crews on outdoor projects and be prepared for outages, storms, and emergency callouts.

The role requires hard physical work, travel as needed, and strict adherence to safety protocols and PPE guidelines to protect workers in diverse weather and industrial environments.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license and ability to obtain CDL within 60 days.
• Willing to travel long distances on short notice.
• Lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Work extended periods at job locations, including out-of-state assignments.
• Willing to work outside normal hours, including weekends, holidays and on-call duties.

Responsibilities

• Perform new construction, maintain and repair underground distribution systems.
• Help install and repair underground facilities, conductors, and related hardware.
• Maintain excavation equipment (backhoes, trenchers, excavators, pulling equipment).
• Work outdoors in varying environmental conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, wind, and inclement weather.
• Available to work outages, storms, emergencies including on-call rotation.
• Follow safety protocols including PPE use and understanding of insulated protective equipment.
• Inspect rubber goods and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Understand when to wear personal protective equipment.
• Will perform rigorous physical labor.
