Job summary

Pike Corporation is seeking a Groundman to support the construction and maintenance of underground electrical distribution systems. You will assist the team under the Foreman, performing hands-on labor to help ensure safe, reliable power delivery.

This role requires physical stamina, the ability to travel for out-of-state assignments, and a commitment to safety PPE protocols. A valid driver's license is required, and you must be willing to obtain a CDL within 60 days.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license required; CDL within 60 days.
• Willing to travel long distances on short notice.
• Able to lift, carry, push or pull materials up to 50 pounds.
• Work extended hours, including weekends, holidays and on-call emergencies.
• Willing to work out-of-state locations.

Responsibilities

• Perform new construction, maintain and repair underground distribution systems.
• Help install and repair underground facilities, conductors, and related hardware.
• Maintain excavation equipment (backhoes, trenchers, excavators, pulling equipment).
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Available for outages, storms, emergencies, including on-call rotation.
• Follow safety protocols including PPE and insulation of potential differences.
• Inspect PPE and rubber goods; ensure proper PPE use.
• Understand when to wear PPE.
• Perform rigorous physical labor.
