Job summary

Crane is seeking an Account Operations Coordinator to serve as the operational point of contact for a high-value customer account, handling bookings, validation, and consolidation. You will own all customer communications, escalate exceptions, and coordinate with capacity planning to ensure on-time appointments and accurate TMF data.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 2-4 years of experience in freight or 3PL account coordination, customer service, or transportation operations.
• Ability to own a customer relationship operationally - responsive, accurate, and calm under escalation.
• Hands-on experience with transportation management systems; familiarity with e2open TMF and Descartes Aljex preferred.
• Working knowledge of US domestic ground freight modes (FTL, LTL, intermodal) and the shipment lifecycle from booking to invoice.
• Excellent written communication - able to summarize an exception clearly for both a customer and an internal escalation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook) and Microsoft Teams.

Responsibilities

• Receive and interpret customer booking requests and confirm service details.
• Build orders in the customer platform and ensure asset details match.
• Create the booking in TMF using the booking tool.
• Validate booking completeness at first release.
• Coordinate updates with Outbound and Capacity Planning teams.
• Review open loads to decide on consolidation.
• Communicate with operations to adjust capacity and appointments.
• Own all customer communications including escalation handling.
• Monitor boards for exceptions and escalate as needed.
• Escalate systemic gaps to the Program Manager.
