Job summary

Crane seeks an Outbound Specialist to own the origin half of ground shipments, building files in TMF and Descartes Aljex, applying cost and revenue, and generating BOLs. You will secure pickups, issue pre-alerts, and establish in-transit visibility using Tive and MacroPoint.

The role requires 1–3 years in transportation ops, strong document audit skills, and experience with TMF/Aljex. Reliable cross-system reconciliation and timely escalations are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain, or related field preferred.
• 1–3 years of experience in transportation operations, delivery coordination, dispatch, or related logistics role.
• Hands-on experience with transportation management systems; direct experience with e2open TMF and/or Descartes Aljex strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of US domestic ground freight modes (FTL, LTL, intermodal) and standard shipment lifecycle milestones.
• Demonstrated accuracy with document audit work — validating a signed POD against system records and resolving discrepancies before billing.
• Comfort with cost and revenue entry and the discipline to reconcile financials across two systems.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for interfacing with carriers, drivers, receiving sites, and internal teams.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook) and Microsoft Teams.

Responsibilities

• Build shipment files in TMF and Descartes Aljex, ensuring data parity across systems.
• Assign shipments to Capacity Planning and escalate unassigned loads that miss pickup windows.
• Coordinate appointments, pre-alerts, and in-transit visibility using Tive and MacroPoint.
• Audit BOLs and loading documents; reconcile assets and piece counts between TMF and Aljex.
• Release trucks with a clear “good to go” within one hour of loading; complete handoffs to Inbound Specialists.
