ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Install, maintain and service irrigation systems.
• Perform regular system maintenance, including starting up systems for use in warmer months.
• Inspect and repair sprinkler heads, pipes, and other components.
• Winterize systems to prevent damage during freezing weather.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and completed work orders.
• Assist with snow removal on all sidewalks, utilizing snow shovels and small equipment with plows; follow with the application of Ice Melt.
• Load and unload trucks and other conveyances.
• Move supplies and materials to the proper location by wheelbarrow or hand trucks.
• Dig, fill, and tamp earth excavations.
• Level ground using pick, shovel, tamper, and rake.
• Shovel concrete, soil, and asphalt.
• Clean culverts and ditches.
• Cut trees and brush.
• Cut vegetation using walking-type or riding mowers (less than 2000 lbs.).
• Operate power tools such as lawnmowers, weed eaters, edgers, blowers, drills, air hammers, earth tampers, generators, air compressors, sump pumps, concrete saws, routers, etc.
• Trim hedges and edge around walks, flowerbeds, and wells using hedge trimmers, clippers, and edging tools.
• Prune shrubs and trees to shape and improve growth using shears and other hand tools.
• Plant grass, flowers, trees, and shrubs.
• Water lawn and shrubs during dry periods using hose or activating sprinkler systems.
• Pick up and cart away leaves, paper, or other litter.
• Spread concrete and asphalt on paving jobs using the appropriate hand tools for the job.
• Clean hand tools, machinery, and work area.
• Spread sand and salt on icy roads and walkways.
• Responsible for timely reporting of accidents, injuries, and hazardous situations.
• Perform all other work-related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must have High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Ability to pass a drug and background screening.
• Must be able to pass Government background check.
