Temporary Need: 03/01/2025 -- 12/01/2025. Six (6) full-time, seasonal, temporary Farmworkers/Laborers Crop needed.

Hours: 40 hours/week, Mon-Fri, 7:00am to 3:30pm. Pay is $17.84/hour.

Location: Work will be performed in Payson, Utah.

Duties: This job requires a minimum of 3 months of prior experience working in apple, peach, or cherry orchards, handling both manual and machine tasks related to commodity production and harvest activities. Workers must be able to perform manual and mechanized activities with accuracy and efficiency. The role involves working on your feet in bent positions for long periods, repetitive movements, extensive walking, and working in temperatures ranging from 10°F to 100°F. Candidates must be available for the entire period requested by the employer.

Specific tasks include pruning trees with hand pruners and pneumatic tools, handling ladders (12-foot, 40 lbs), climbing, pruning with pneumatic poles, stacking limbs, planting, shoveling, fertilizing, rock removal, weed pulling, irrigation, thinning fruit from ladders, harvesting cherries, peaches, and apples, and carrying full buckets of fruit for up to 8 hours. Driving harvesting equipment and working in various weather conditions are also required. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, follow instructions, and problem-solve is essential. Maintaining cleanliness of property and housing is also part of the job.

Terms and conditions include providing all necessary tools and equipment at no cost, working the full employment period, performing tasks accurately and efficiently, and adhering to safety rules. Workers must be trained in USDA GAP standards and be willing to work in isolated conditions, outdoors in all weather, and around farm machinery. Proof of employment eligibility (I9) is required.

The employer provides workers' compensation or private insurance at no cost. Applicants without recent crop harvesting experience require up to two references. The employer guarantees at least 75% of the total work period, with pay for at least 50% of the period if completed. Daily subsistence during travel is provided at $15.88 per day, up to $59 with receipts. This position is connected with a future H-2A labor certification application.
