Job summary

Antech Diagnostics in Lake Success, NY is seeking a Grossing Laboratory Technician I to prepare, trim, and process tissue specimens for microscopic examination by a pathologist. You will follow SOPs, work with pathologists, and maintain a clean, safe lab. The role requires a high school diploma, anatomy/physiology coursework, and laboratory skills.

Shift Tue-Sat 3:00am–11:30am with training Tue-Sat 5:30am–2:00pm. Pay is $24.50 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s degree in science, biology or life sciences preferred.
• Coursework in anatomy/physiology required.
• Laboratory skills and experience with lab instruments.
• Attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
• Strong communication in English.

Responsibilities

• Meet production standards for the department.
• Identify and trim submitted tissues per SOP while ensuring quality.
• Produce accurate grossing notes with code descriptions.
• Communicate with Pathologists and lab staff via email.
• Crosstrain and develop knowledge across department areas.
• Maintain clean, organized work area and restock supplies.
• Follow SOPs, safety and quality procedures.
