Job summary

Antech Diagnostics, a leading veterinary diagnostics company, is seeking a Grossing Laboratory Technician I to prepare, trim, and process tissue specimens for microscopic examination by a pathologist. The role requires adherence to SOPs and active collaboration with pathologists and lab staff.

Qualifications

• Laboratory skills and experience operating lab instruments.
• Strong attention to detail and organized multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in English and clear communication within a team.

Responsibilities

• Meet minimum production standards for department.
• Identify, orient, ink, and trim tissues per SOP with high quality.
• Produce accurate grossing notes with clear codes for Pathologist.
• Communicate with Pathologists, transcription, and Lab Coordinator emails.
• Identify problems and special handling cases.
• Assist with maintenance of lab machines and equipment.
• Exercise judgment in evaluating and reporting results.
• Report technical/QC problems to leads/supervisor.
• Crosstrain across specialties within the department.
• Follow SOPs, maintain clean work area and restock supplies.
• Participate in improving lab efficiency, quality, and cooperation.
• Consult with senior peers on non-complex tasks.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
