Job summary

Acupath Laboratories, Inc. is seeking a Grossing Technician for our Plainview, NY diagnostics division.

The role involves processing and preparing surgical specimens for histologic evaluation, with emphasis on accuracy, confidentiality, and adherence to regulatory standards. The successful candidate will have a NYSED license and a Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or equivalent, with preferred ASCP certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or equivalent mandatory.
• Licensed by NYSED as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist/Technician or equivalent required.
• ASCP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receives specimens in the grossing lab.
• Enters patient information into the lab information system.
• Labels cassettes with accession numbers.
• Maintains cleanliness and organization of the work area.
• Adheres to CAP, CLIA, HIPAA, safety and OSHA regulations.
