Job summary

Meijer is seeking a Store Operations leader to plan, direct, and supervise day-to-day store activities across departments. You will mentor staff, manage staffing, and drive customer service excellence while ensuring sales goals and shrink targets are met.

The role emphasizes leadership in staffing, training, and maintaining Meijer standards, with a focus on safety and consistent attendance in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other areas of the store such as meat, bakery, produce and deli; also customer service and product flow experience is helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate to team members with clear, precise direction.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict by addressing root causes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information and use that information to make informed decisions.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor team members across the organization including hourly staff and team leaders.
• Successful completion of all required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and supervise team members in daily store operations.
• Mentor and coach team members to meet customer service and sales goals.
• Oversee staffing, selection, and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Implement and communicate strategies to improve customer service and store performance.
• Be accountable for P&L, sales results, and shrink control.
• Maintain store appearance and product presentation during peak hours.
• Ensure team training and completion of required trainings.
• Promote a safe work environment and reliable attendance.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
