Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking a store leadership professional to plan, direct and coach team members in day-to-day operations. You will mentor staff, manage staffing, and drive sales while upholding Meijer standards and exceptional customer service.

The role emphasizes career development, safety, and daily interactions with customers and employees to ensure a high-performing store environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2–3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in store areas (meat, bakery, produce, deli) and customer service experience are helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and resolve conflicts.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information to inform decisions.
• Ability to mentor team members and lead an organization that follows safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and supervise team members in day-to-day store operations.
• Mentor and coach team members to meet customer service and sales goals.
• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Promote succession planning and career development; involved in promotion decisions.
• Document and apply disciplinary actions and discharge recommendations.
• Responsible for P&L, achieving sales and controlling shrink.
• Maintain Meijer standards and a positive store image; ensure training completion.
• Communicate the Meijer Friendly Initiative in meetings and operations.
• Spend majority of time in-store engaging with customers and team members.
• Ensure a safe work environment and reliable attendance.
