Job summary

Qualifications

• Passion for customer service with engagement that conveys approachability to customers and peers.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Retail or other customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, bend and twist while handling product.
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive environment.

Responsibilities

• Engaging peers to provide the best possible shopping experience for customers including an exceptional checkout experience.
• Communicating with team members and assigning daily work tasks.
• Mentoring and coaching team members to exceed customer service and sales goals.
• Supports training new team members and cross-training to improve productivity.
• Assist with department scheduling to emphasize team engagement and store performance.
• Ensure product freshness by monitoring rotation and dating policies.
• Guide team in food safety compliance and safe operation.
• Lead on ordering, receiving, stocking, pricing, and product displays as applicable.
• Foster an inclusive Meijer culture valuing diversity, equity, and inclusion.
• Operate a register and handle cash when needed.
• Operate powered equipment where applicable.
• Participate in period end inventories to help meet goals.
• May lead in other departments as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
