Job summary

Meijer Inc. seeks a customer-focused leader to supervise daily store operations, guide cash handling, and coach teammates for outstanding service. You will help ensure inventory accuracy, safety, and adherence to company standards in a fast-paced environment.

You will mentor staff, coordinate task assignments, and collaborate with leadership on staffing to improve service, sales, and profitability while promoting diversity and inclusion across the team.

Qualifications

• Passion for customer service and engagement with customers and peers.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Retail or other customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to influence others and build rapport with customers.

Responsibilities

• Engage peers to deliver the best possible shopping experience and checkout.
• Communicate with team members and assign daily tasks.
• Mentor and coach team members to exceed customer service and sales goals.
• Support training of new team members and cross-training.
• Collaborate with leadership on department scheduling to improve customer service and store profitability.
• Ensure product freshness by monitoring rotation and dating policies.
• Lead adherence to food safety standards and safe operation.
• Oversee ordering, receiving, stocking, pricing, and product displays where applicable.
• Foster an inclusive Meijer culture valuing diversity, equity, and inclusion.
• Operate a register and handle cash when needed; operate powered equipment as applicable.
• Participate in period end inventories and may act in Lead capacity in other departments.
