Associated Wholesale Grocers seeks a Grocery Sales & Merchandising Representative to drive Center Store sales through effective shelf placement and selling tools in AWG member stores. Location: St. Joseph, MO; travel up to 60-80% as required within territory.

The role emphasizes AWG Brands and HGS items, planograms, and collaboration with brokers to achieve territory goals. Ideal candidates have grocery industry experience and strong merchandising skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or high school graduate
• Minimum 5 years in the grocery industry
• Experience in marketing/sales
• Team oriented with strong customer service
• Merchandising and shelf-management skills
• Ability to use common hand tools and power tools
• Valid driver’s license with travel/overnights

Responsibilities

• Sell new items, conversions, and proper shelf placement for AWG Center Store
• Execute category shelf work via planogram
• Assist with tagging and store resets as needed
• Carry out monthly focus objectives for Center Store portfolio
• Collaborate with brokers and vendors on resets and remodels
• Recommend category layouts and shelf allocations with AWG/HGS focus
• Suggest products and promotions; analyze slow-moving items
• Maintain sales performance within assigned territory
• Train members on AWG center store programs
• Provide merchandising ideas and report territory activities
