The role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and a focus on food safety and profitability. Flexible scheduling, daily operations, and collaboration with the Store Manager are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old with 1 year supervisory experience in a multi-department retail or service environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to take direction and work in a team.
• Outgoing, friendly demeanor with a positive attitude toward customers.
• Proven leadership to build, motivate and maintain staff with knowledge of reports and sales goals.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Food Safety certification and compliance with federal, state, and company standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the sales and operation of Grocery, Dairy, Frozen Food, and Beer/Wine departments.
• Control costs by monitoring labor, shrink, damage, and pilferage to improve profitability.
• Assist in store physical inventories and pricing accuracy.
• Oversee unloading of trucks and verify deliveries against invoices and notes of shortages/overages.
• Manage ordering, sanitation, back-room inventory, and department safety.
• Lead and coach team members; participate in performance reviews.
• Recruit, hire, and promote staff in collaboration with Store Manager.
• Maintain appropriate staff scheduling to ensure productivity and coverage.
• Communicate standards and product knowledge to team members.
• Serve as Key Carrier or Manager on Duty as needed.
