Gala Foods is seeking a seasoned General Manager to oversee the Centereach, NY deli department, directing daily operations, staff performance, and financial results.

The GM will lead service excellence, ensure health and safety standards, manage budgets and inventory, and drive sales growth while coordinating supplier relations. Flexibility for long hours and weekend work is required.

Qualifications

• Retail Management Experience- 3–5 years of supervisory experience in a high-volume grocery environment.
• Strong understanding of Profit and Loss, labor cost calculations, budgeting and margins.
• Proficiency with POS systems and inventory tracking tools.
• Inventory control and supply chain logistics knowledge, shrinkage reduction strategies.
• Compliance with local health codes, OSHA guidelines, and labor laws.

Responsibilities

• Daily Operations and Floor Management: oversee opening/closing, store flow, safety, and cleanliness.
• Staff Management and Leadership: recruit, hire, train, supervise, and conduct performance reviews.
• Financial and Business Performance: manage budget, monitor P&L, control expenses, analyze sales data, and meet KPIs.
• Inventory and Supply Chain: oversee stock, ordering, supplier relations, pricing, and merchandising updates.
• Customer Service and Compliance: address inquiries, resolve complaints, ensure compliance with health codes and policies.
