Dollar General is seeking a Food Department Manager on duty to lead the store in the absence of the Store Manager. You will oversee inventory, shelf presentation, and customer service while ensuring safety and asset protection.

The role includes training staff, controlling cash, and maintaining store workflows to meet weekly targets. Ideal candidates bring 2–3 years of retail experience, a high school diploma, and willingness to obtain food handling certifications.

• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and cashier accountability.
• Ability to perform cash register functions accurately.
• Ability to read plan‑o‑gram and merchandising guidance.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to obtain required food handling certifications.

Responsabilités

• Manage the Food Department and store when designated as manager on duty.
• Ensure inventory management, merchandise presentation, and customer service.
• Maintain safe working conditions and protect company assets.
• Supervise staff, assist with training, and ensure scheduling coverage.
• Oversee cash handling, refunds, overrides, and banking procedures.
• Lead training for associates on stocking, rotation, and presentation.
• Ensure pricing accuracy, signage, and adherence to policies.
• Direct unloading of deliveries and organization of the receiving area.
• Maintain store workflow and ensure timely customer service.
