Job summary

Dollar General seeks a capable leader to manage the Food Department and oversee the store when designated as Manager on Duty. The role focuses on inventory accuracy, merchandise presentation, cash handling, and safeguarding company assets.

You will train staff, ensure compliance with safety and food-handling rules, and support the Store Manager in scheduling and staff development to uphold store standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two to three years of retail clerk experience.
• Previous lead experience and/or grocery store experience preferred.
• Attainment of required local and state food handling certifications, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Food Department and total store when designated as Manager on Duty.
• Ensure cash accountability and store security practices.
• Assist Store Manager and Assistant Manager in staff training.
• Oversee stocking, rotation, and presentation of food products.
• Maintain sanitation standards and safety compliance.
