Job summary

Harris Teeter in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Grocery Department Supervisor to oversee up to 25 associates and potentially the HBC/GM department. The role directs, coordinates, and evaluates department activities, ensuring policy compliance and high customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities include interviewing and training staff, planning and directing work, and addressing customer concerns. Strong English communication, training completion, and basic computer skills are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English.
• Ability to write simple correspondence in English.
• Ability to effectively present information to customers, clients, and associates who speak English.
• Must complete Company training including orientation, safety and product knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Supervise up to 25 associates in the Grocery Department.
• May also be assigned responsibility for the HBC/GM Department.
• Oversee direction, coordination, and evaluation of these departments.
• Interview and train associates; plan, assign, and direct work; assist in performance appraisals; reward and discipline associates.
• Address complaints and resolve problems.
