Job summary

Harris Teeter in Waxhaw, North Carolina, is seeking a Grocery Department Supervisor to lead and supervise up to 25 associates, with possible duties in the HBC/GM Department. You will direct and evaluate staff, interview and train new hires, plan, assign and direct work, and address performance and corrective actions.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, 2-3 years of related experience, and strong interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English.
• Ability to write simple correspondence in English.
• Ability to present information to customers and associates in English.

Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise up to 25 associates in the Grocery Department.
• Possibly oversee the HBC/GM Department.
• Direct, coordinate, and evaluate departments.
• Interview and train associates.
• Plan, assign, and direct work.
• Assist in appraising performance; reward and discipline associates.
• Address complaints and resolve problems.
