Job summary

Food Lion is seeking a Grocery Department Manager to lead and develop the department team at our Fayetteville store. You will hire, train, coach, and appraise staff while driving labor efficiency and customer satisfaction. You will apply our standards to budgeting, scheduling, and store operations to deliver strong results.

The role requires strong communication, leadership, and customer service skills with a focus on safety and food safety compliance. This is a full-time, on-site position.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to lead and direct others.
• Must be willing to obtain Certified Food Safety Manager accreditation within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Grocery Department, including hiring, training and developing department associates.
• Supervise performance and conduct timely evaluations for direct reports.
• Daily management of labor and coaching to meet productivity goals.
• Provide leadership to promote a culture aligned with company principles and strategy.
• Support achievement of budgeted financial and operating results.
• Ensure safety, sanitation, scheduling, and department appearance meet standards.
