Job summary

Food Lion is seeking a Grocery Department Manager to lead daily operations, hire and develop department staff, and drive customer satisfaction across the store. You will manage labor, training, and performance while ensuring adherence to company policies and safety standards.

In this role, you will oversee scheduling, inventory controls, and the execution of promotions and merchandising to meet sales targets and maintain food safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Ability to lead and direct others.
• Must meet minimum age requirements and physical requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Grocery Department, including hiring, training and developing department associates.
• Supervise the performance of all duties and responsibilities of department associates and provide ongoing performance management and training.
• Daily management of labor and coaching to achieve productivity expectations.
• Provide leadership to promote a culture aligned with guiding principles, core values and strategy.
• Support achievement of budgeted financial and operational results.
• Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer service and a positive shopping experience.
