Qualifications

• High school education is required.
• At least three years of experience in the supermarket industry.
• Excellent oral and written communication with customers, employees and vendors.
• Ability to calculate figures such as discounts, gross margins, percentages, proportions, ratios.
• Ability to verify vendor invoices and complete inventory/receiving reports.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage all facets of the grocery department to maximize sales, productivity, and profits.
• Supervise and train grocery department staff ensuring performance aligns with department needs.
• Ensure proper ordering and allocation of merchandise to maintain in-stock and in-code positions.
• Maintain accurate billing and pricing for all incoming products.
• Review management reports related to the department’s functions and submit orders on schedule.
• Oversee 3rd shift operations and productivity of shift associates.
