Qualifications

• High school education required.
• At least three years of supermarket industry experience.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills for customers, employees, and vendors.
• Ability to calculate discounts, gross margins, percentages, and ratios.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage all facets of the grocery department to maximize sales, productivity, and profits.
• Supervise and train grocery department personnel.
• Ensure proper ordering and allocation of merchandise; maintain in-stock status.
• Verify billing and pricing for all incoming products.
• Review management reports related to the department’s function.
• Submit orders and grocery surveys on schedule.
• Maintain stock levels and department appearance; assist other departments.
• Oversee maintenance and security within the grocery area.
• Greet customers and uphold company dress code for staff.
• Oversee the 3rd shift operation and productivity of all shift staff.
• Calculate piece counts as a productivity measure and enforce policy.
