Qualifications

• High school education required and working knowledge of supermarket operations.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills for dealing with customers, employees, and vendors.
• Ability to perform basic algebra and calculations for discounts, margins, and inventory.

Responsibilities

• Achieve sales and profit goals as projected.
• Supervise, train, and schedule grocery department personnel to meet department needs.
• Assure proper ordering and allocation of merchandise to maintain in-stock and in-code position.
• Post invoices and conduct pricing audits for accurate billing and pricing of incoming products.
• Submit required orders and grocery surveys on schedule.
• Order necessary supplies for the department regularly.
• Oversee damaged and distressed merchandise per policy.
• Maintain stock levels and present the store as clean, neat, and well stocked.
• Assist other departments to ensure efficient operation of their areas.
• Maintain the receiving area and grocery department maintenance and security.
• Greet customers and be observant on the sales floor.
• Maintain neat personal appearance according to dress code.
• Directly oversee the entire 3rd shift operation and productivity of all 3rd shift associates.
• Compute piece counts for clerks as a productivity measure.
• Follow and enforce all company policies and procedures.
