Sprouts Farmers Market invites applications for an Assistant Grocery Manager to help customers make healthy choices while leading one of the busiest store teams. You will support the Grocery Manager in merchandising, inventory controls, and staff supervision, ensuring product quality and excellent service in a fast-paced setting.

The role emphasizes teamwork, hiring and training, adherence to health and safety standards, and driving sales and profits.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 and have 1–3 years of retail management experience; familiarity with natural foods preferred.
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays; walking up to 3 miles in 8 hours is expected.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to take and give direction in a team.
• Outgoing, friendly demeanor with a positive attitude and ability to interact with customers.
• Proven leadership to build, motivate and maintain staff; working knowledge of personnel reports, margin reports and weekly sales numbers.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong organization and planning skills; ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks.
• Must vertically transfer milk trays up to 60 lbs from 9” to 62” for up to 25 hours.
• Must transfer boxes up to 50 lbs for up to 25 hours without mechanical assistance.
• Repetitive squatting/kneeling/bending to access a point 5 inches from the floor for up to 30 hours

Responsibilities

• Assist the Grocery Manager in managing and merchandising the department for maximum productivity and profit.
• Responsible for ordering and inventory controls, product quality, and supervision of the Grocery team.
• Coordinate merchandising and sales through ongoing planning, direction, goal setting, communication, and teamwork.
• Assist in leading a team that brainstorms to deliver the finest quality of product and greatest customer experience.
• Assist in hiring, teaching, training, developing the Grocery Team.
• Unload and sort through store deliveries.
• Ensure the execution of health, safety, and sanitation guidelines; ensure team follows procedures.
