Sprouts Farmers Market in Houston is seeking an Assistant Grocery Manager to help lead one of the busiest teams and deliver excellent customer service. You will assist the Grocery Manager in managing and merchandising the department for maximum productivity and profit, while ensuring quality and safety standards.

The role requires 1–3 years of retail management, strong communication, and leadership abilities.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age and 1-3 years retail management experience.
• Familiarity with natural foods and alternative diets preferred.
• Be dependable and reliable with a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Strong communication skills both written and verbal and the ability to take and give direction.
• Outgoing and friendly behavior with a positive attitude and customer interaction skills.
• Proven leadership ability to build, motivate and maintain staff with knowledge of reports and financial goals.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong organization and planning skills; ability to prioritize and multitask.
• Must lift milk trays up to 60 lbs. and transfer boxes up to 50 lbs. for extended periods.
• Repetitive squatting/kneeling/bending to access low points for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Grocery Manager in managing and merchandising the department for maximum productivity and profit.
• Responsible for ordering and inventory controls, product quality, and supervision of the Grocery team.
• Coordinate merchandising and sales through planning, direction, goal setting, communication, and teamwork.
• Assist in leading a team that delivers high quality products and excellent customer service.
• Assist in hiring, teaching, training, and developing the Grocery Team.
• Unload and sort through store deliveries.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and train others to follow them.
