Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market is seeking an Assistant Grocery Manager in Houston, TX to help customers make healthy food choices and lead one of the busiest teams in our store. You will support the Grocery Manager in merchandising, inventory control, and achieving department goals while maintaining outstanding customer service.

The role requires 1–3 years of retail management experience, flexible scheduling including evenings and weekends, and strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old with 1–3 years retail management experience
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays
• Strong written and verbal communication and teamwork
• Outgoing, friendly attitude and customer focus
• Demonstrated leadership to motivate and manage staff and understand margin and sales
• Must be able to lift and move milk trays up to 60 lbs. and boxes up to 50 lbs.
• Repetitive squatting/kneeling/bending to floor level up to 30 hours

Responsibilities

• Assist Grocery Manager in managing and merchandising the department for maximum productivity and profit
• Responsible for ordering and inventory controls, product quality, and supervision of the Grocery team
• Coordinate merchandising and sales through planning, direction, goal setting, communication, and teamwork
• Assist in leading a team to deliver high quality product and customer service
• Assist in hiring, teaching, training, and developing the Grocery Team
• Unload and sort through store deliveries
• Ensure health, safety, and sanitation guidelines are followed by the team
