Key responsibilities include:

  1. Informing customers of food specials and recommending grocery items to ensure they get what they want and need.
  2. Checking product quality for freshness, reviewing "sell by" dates, and taking appropriate action.
  3. Providing customers with ordered fresh and non-perishable grocery products.
  4. Labeling, stocking, and inventory management of department merchandise.
  5. Reporting product ordering or shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
  6. Staying current with advertisements and promotions.
  7. Adhering to all food safety regulations and guidelines, maintaining proper temperatures, and keeping logs.
  8. Gaining product knowledge to respond to customer questions and make suggestions.
  9. Creating a welcoming environment for customers by engaging with them about products.
  10. Reinforcing safety programs, identifying unsafe conditions, and reporting issues.
  11. Practicing preventive maintenance and notifying management of equipment needs.
  12. Reporting customer or employee accidents.
  13. Working cooperatively in high-paced, stressful environments, managing conflicts calmly, and acting with honesty and integrity.
  14. Following directions, seeking assistance when needed, and supporting minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  15. Performing essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
