Key Responsibilities:
  • Inform customers about food specials and recommend grocery items to ensure they find what they need.
  • Check product quality, review "sell by" dates, and take appropriate action.
  • Provide customers with ordered fresh and non-perishable grocery products.
  • Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
  • Report discrepancies in product ordering/shipping to the department manager.
  • Stay current with ads, including seasonal and special promotions.
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines, maintaining proper temperatures and logs.
  • Gain and maintain product knowledge to respond to customer questions and make suggestions.
  • Create a welcoming environment, making customers feel valued and appreciated.
  • Follow safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and report them to management.
  • Inspect equipment regularly and notify management of repairs needed.
  • Report customer or employee accidents to management.
  • Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
  • Manage conflicts in a reasonable, non-confrontational manner.
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Follow directions and seek assistance when resolving issues.
  • Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults as needed.
  • Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
