Grocery Clerk (Finance)

Responsibilities:
  • Inform customers of food specials and recommend grocery items to meet their needs.
  • Check product quality, ensure freshness, review "sell by" dates, and take appropriate actions.
  • Provide customers with ordered grocery products, both fresh and non-perishable.
  • Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
  • Report discrepancies in product ordering/shipping to the department manager.
  • Stay updated on current, upcoming, seasonal, and special promotions.
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers, and keep temperature logs.
  • Develop and maintain product knowledge to respond to customer questions and make suggestions.
  • Create a welcoming environment where customers feel valued by engaging with them about products.
  • Follow safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and report them to management.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance and notify management of equipment issues.
  • Report any customer or employee accidents to management.
  • Work cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
  • Manage conflicts in a reasonable and cooperative manner.
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Follow directions and seek help to resolve issues effectively.
  • Support and assist customers, including minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  • Perform essential duties with or without reasonable accommodations.
