Essential Job Functions:

1. Assist customers in discovering new items or products they inquire about.
2. Inform customers of food specials and recommend grocery items to meet their needs.
3. Check product quality for freshness, review "sell by" dates, and take appropriate action.
4. Provide customers with ordered grocery products, both fresh and non-perishable.
5. Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
6. Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
7. Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads.
8. Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
9. Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers, keeping temperature logs.
10. Develop knowledge of products sold within the department and respond to customer questions, making suggestions as needed.
11. Create a welcoming environment where customers feel valued by answering questions and providing assistance.
12. Reinforce safety programs by following safety procedures and reporting unsafe conditions.
13. Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and notify management of repairs needed.
14. Report customer or employee accidents to management.
15. Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
16. Manage conflicts in a reasonable, non-confrontational manner.
17. Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
18. Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues.
19. Support minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults through direct interaction.
20. Perform essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
