Grocery Clerk (Finance)

Responsibilities include:

• Informing customers of food specials and recommending grocery items to meet their needs.
• Checking product quality, reviewing "sell by" dates, and taking appropriate actions.
• Providing customers with ordered grocery products, both fresh and non-perishable.
• Labeling, stocking, and inventory management of department merchandise.
• Reporting discrepancies in product ordering/shipping to the department manager.
• Staying current with advertisements, seasonal, and promotional events.
• Adhering to all food safety regulations and maintaining proper temperature logs.
• Gaining product knowledge to respond to questions and make suggestions.
• Creating a welcoming environment for customers by answering questions and providing assistance.
• Reinforcing safety programs, identifying unsafe conditions, and notifying management.
• Practicing preventive maintenance and notifying management of equipment repairs.
• Reporting customer or employee accidents promptly.
• Working cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
• Managing conflicts in a reasonable and cooperative manner.
