Responsibilities include:
- Informing customers of food specials and recommending grocery items to meet their needs.
- Checking product quality, reviewing "sell by" dates, and taking appropriate actions.
- Providing customers with ordered grocery products, both fresh and non-perishable.
- Labeling, stocking, and inventory management of department merchandise.
- Reporting discrepancies in product ordering/shipping to the department manager.
- Staying current with advertisements, seasonal, and promotional events.
- Adhering to all food safety regulations and maintaining proper temperature logs.
- Gaining product knowledge to respond to questions and make suggestions.
- Creating a welcoming environment for customers by answering questions and providing assistance.
- Reinforcing safety programs, identifying unsafe conditions, and notifying management.
- Practicing preventive maintenance and notifying management of equipment repairs.
- Reporting customer or employee accidents promptly.
- Working cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
- Managing conflicts in a reasonable and cooperative manner.
- Acting with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
- Following directions and seeking assistance when needed.
- Supporting and assisting minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
