Job summary

ENERCON Services, Inc. seeks a Substation Designer - Protection & Controls to design and draft substation drawings, perform protection-related calculations, and collaborate with engineers across disciplines. You will support field construction and commissioning, ensuring safe and reliable energy delivery.

The role requires 3+ years in substation protection influence, familiarity with relay schemes, and experience with MicroStation/AutoCAD; travel to client sites is expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Substation designing, with a primary focus on executing protection and control projects.
• Familiarity with relay protection schemes.
• Experience with MicroStation and AutoCAD.
• Willingness to enter energized substations with proper training and PPE.
• Self-driven with strong time-management and effective communication with stakeholders.
• Proficient with Microsoft Windows and Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Willingness to travel for client site visits and project meetings.

Responsibilities

• Substation Design & Drafting: Develop electric substation drawings, including schematics, wiring diagrams, control panel layouts, and control building layouts.
• Engineering Analysis & Calculations: Perform substation design calculations and analysis such as voltage drop and conduit fill.
• Collaboration & Quality Assurance: Work closely with peers to ensure accurate and on-time delivery of electrical design meeting standards.
• Field Support: Provide on-site technical support for ENERCON clients during construction and commissioning as required.
