Job summary

ENERCON Services, Inc. seeks a Substation Protection & Controls Designer to join the Power Delivery group in a role that designs protection schemes and control drawings for substations.

You will collaborate with engineers across disciplines to ensure safe, reliable energy delivery. Responsibilities include drafting schematics and layouts, performing protection calculations, and providing field support during construction and commissioning.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Substation designing, with a primary focus on executing protection and control projects.
• Familiarity with relay protection schemes.
• Experience with MicroStation and AutoCAD.
• Willingness to enter energized electric substations with proper training and PPE.
• Must be self-driven in time management to meet deadlines and provide accurate deliverables, with the ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Must be proficient with typical office software including Microsoft Windows and Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Substation Design & Drafting: Develop electric substation drawings, including schematics, wiring diagrams, control panel layouts, and control building layouts.
• Engineering Analysis & Calculations: Perform substation design calculations and analysis such as voltage drop and conduit fill.
• Collaboration & Quality Assurance: Work closely with peers to ensure accurate and on-time delivery of electrical design that meets client and industry standards, specifications, and good engineering practices.
• Field Support: Providing on-site technical support for select ENERCON clients during construction and commissioning as required
