Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Distribution Planning Project Manager in the US with expertise in electrical distribution planning, grid technologies, and renewables. The role focuses on delivering complex studies and proposals to utilities, supporting growth with business development activities.

Responsibilities include leading multi-disciplinary teams, coordinating with clients, and guiding projects from scope through execution while maintaining financial performance and quality.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree required.
• MBA or engineering management is a plus.
• Minimum 5 years in renewable generation with 3+ years in managing projects.
• Deep knowledge of electric utility systems and renewable generation facilities.
• Experience with wind/solar projects and energy storage is a plus.
• Proven ability to lead and train engineers and analysts.
• Strong communication and client engagement skills.
• Willingness to travel.
• Proficient in MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Business development: build client relationships, lead proposals, plan projects and negotiate contracts.
• Project execution: manage scope, schedule, budget; ensure deliverables meet quality standards.
• Leadership: mentor staff and serve as industry leader in power delivery planning.
• Other duties as assigned.
